AND lab's design director, Clarence Chia, as a representative from Singapore shared his findings and his thoughts at 13th ASJA symposium held in Siem Reap on "Safeguarding ASEAN cultural heritage".
Clarence Chia, who is also teaching in Singapore University of Technology and Design, urged ASEAN countries to nurture its own team of experts in 3D scanning instead of relying on western experts and emphasised the importance for ASEAN countries to build a collective 3D digital archive for their heritage assets, as these digital archive serves as a 'backup' to restore their assets.
